About Yoga

The definition of the word YOGA means "union". Stressful times tend to make one feel disconnected and unplugged from our inner calm center. Yoga practice helps make us resilient, strong and positive even in the face of turbulent times.

There are so many styles of YOGA around, primarily because each teacher interprets the classical practices of Yoga in their own way. Essentially " the many practices (sadhana) of yoga can be described as "processes" and procedures that deprogram the negative conditioning thus liberating the individual's modified consciousness from the conditioned matrix of limited "reality" back into its Original, Natural, Primordial, and Unmodified state -- the very Source of inspiration, genius, and creativity. This is described as the realization of the non-dual state (where eternal spirit is no longer absent) of Union (as yoga). Thus the Yoga Sutras describe processes (gives practices) how an average sentient being who may be so motivated may rid themselves of confused, lonely, alienated, nihilistic, and fragmented tendencies and become reunited, harmonized, and integrated with the natural innate order of reality-as-it- truly is -- in its own true form (swarupa); and thus unite in forming a natural and intimate sense of confidence belonging as part of creation (and hence the creative force) in this very life and in this very world. This produces a profound sense of well being, contentment, fulfillment, peace, and joy devoid of fear, insecurity, or attachment."
